Magpie McLaurin got her first taste of voice acting when she was a young child putting on puppet shows for the neighborhood kids. Later, she would learn of the world of "voice-over" where she could do silly voices without the discomfort of an itchy bag of felt on her hand, and her life would never be the same. As a teenager and young adult, Magpie explored the world of acting for the stage and screen, and after a three-year adventure in the Midlands of the United Kingdom, she returned to the U.S. to earn her Masters Degree in Education, which ensured she would always be able to find employment reading aloud to children and putting voices to inanimate objects. Magpie currently lends her voice to commercials, audiobooks, animation, and radio theater, and she is the founder and organizer of the Seattle Voice-Over Meetup. During her time in ART, Magpie has played everything from a five-year-old to an 85-year-old, from a sexy starlet to a forlorn farm wife, and much more.
