From 1949-1951, Ivan played the title character in the radio program, "Bobby Benson" on the Mutual network. The cast also included a young Don Knotts in the part of the old geezer, Windy Wales. He was Portia's son on Portia Faces Life. Ivan was also Perry Como's son on radio and television.
Ivan has been a founding member of American Radio Theater since it began in 2005. He has been a board member, actor and director at ART.
Ivan Cury was a professor in the Communication Department of California State University, Los Angeles, where he has taught for fifteen years. He was a producer and director of commercials, sitcoms, variety shows, documentaries, and daytime dramas such as The Young and the Restless. He served as a judge for the Emmy's ACE and for the DGA awards. Before joining the department at Cal State, he taught for eleven years in the MPTV department at UCLA.
